Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in projects across a range of sectors including residential, sport & leisure, Industrial, commercial, and retail from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to manage all aspects of project planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.

The role requires strong communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while remaining focused on client satisfaction and value delivery. Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor based in Manchester, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver full pre and post contract quantity surveying services across a range of projects within a variety of sectors.
  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
  • Manage tendering processes and provide procurement advice.
  • Administer and manage JCT contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Carry out valuations, cost reporting, and final accounts.
  • Support project management and client teams with financial and contractual advice.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to dispute resolution and risk management processes when required.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team while taking ownership of responsibilities where appropriate.

Person

To be successful as a Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, you will align with our requirements and bring:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a consultancy environment.
  • MRICS Chartered Surveyor (or actively working towards chartership).
  • Strong understanding of RIBA Work Stages, JCT contracts, planning procedures, environmental regulations, and building control requirements.
  • Strong organisational, communication, reporting, and time management skills.
  • Confident in engaging with contractors, consultants, and professional teams.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects concurrently and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
  • Experienced in managing clients and stakeholders effectively under pressure.
  • Health & Safety knowledge is desirable.

Remuneration
