We’re recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Leicester to support the commercial delivery of design and build schemes across the industrial, logistics, manufacturing, data centre and distribution sectors. You’ll work as part of a collaborative commercial team on high-value projects across Leicester and the wider East Midlands region.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, predominantly office-based in Leicester with occasional site visits each month. You’ll gain exposure to projects typically valued at £50m+, with clear training, development and structured pay reviews every 6 months.

Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary Construction Consultancy delivering major construction projects across the UK and East Midlands.

Due to continued growth in Leicester and the wider Midlands, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of multiple projects within their expanding team.

As a Quantity Surveyor in Leicester, you will support the commercial management of large-scale design and build construction projects within the industrial, logistics, manufacturing and data centre sectors.

Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and clients, you will assist in delivering projects from feasibility through to final account, gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle under JCT Design & Build contracts.

This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor with consultancy experience who is looking to develop their technical and commercial skills within a structured, supportive environment.

As a Quantity Surveyor in Leicester, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the commercial management of industrial and logistics construction projects
• Supporting cost planning, budgeting and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and procurement processes
• Supporting the management of valuations, variations and change control
• Assisting with contract administration under JCT Design & Build contracts
• Monitoring project costs and helping to identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and design teams
• Attending project meetings and occasional site visits across the East Midlands
• Supporting the preparation of final accounts
• Ensuring compliance with company procedures and client requirements
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation

To succeed in this Quantity Surveyor role in Leicester, you will demonstrate a genuine interest in commercial management within the construction consultancy sector.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction
• Exposure to industrial, logistics, manufacturing, data centre or distribution projects (advantageous but not essential)
• A basic understanding of JCT contracts, particularly Design & Build
• Experience working within a consultancy environment (preferred)
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
• Working towards RICS chartership or keen to start the APC
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
• Good communication skills and a collaborative working style
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
