Role

As a Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, you'll manage cost planning, procurement and contract administration on construction schemes, working under NEC and JCT contracts. You'll provide commercial advice to clients and ensure projects deliver value for money whilst maintaining high standards throughout delivery.

Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare detailed cost plans and tender documentation for construction projects
  • Manage procurement processes including tender analysis and contractor negotiations
  • Administer contracts including monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Provide cost advice to clients on value engineering and commercial risk
  • Monitor project budgets and cost reporting to ensure financial control
  • Coordinate with project management teams to align programme objectives
  • Support senior quantity surveyors in client relationship management

Person

To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor job in Manchester, you will bring solid construction or consultancy experience with strong commercial awareness.

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or commercial manager in construction
  • Consultancy or main contracting background preferred
  • Working towards RICS chartered status or qualified MRICS
  • Strong contract administration knowledge and commercial negotiation skills
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Economics
  • Experience with cost management software and NEC or JCT contracts

Remuneration
