Our client is a collaborative and dynamic multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, delivering expert consultancy, design, build, and maintenance services across a wide range of public sector projects.

Following continued growth and project success, the team is expanding and now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Nottingham-based Commercial team.
ROLE
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate cost management and estimation across a wide variety of local construction projects, including:
- Major capital developments (e.g. new office builds)
- New build education facilities
- Refurbishment projects under school improvement programmes
- You will collaborate closely with a team of experienced QSs and Estimators, working alongside internal design and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes from feasibility through to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:
- Preparing cost plans and estimates during feasibility and design stages
- Delivering end-to-end cost management services across your project portfolio
- Procuring and managing contractors and consultants
- Leading contract documentation and financial reporting
- Producing monthly cost and value reports for project fee income
- Managing Compensation Events and maintaining financial control
- Advising on commercial and contractual matters across the business
- Supporting compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
- Promoting sustainability and contributing to carbon reduction strategies
PERSON
To be successful in this role, you should ideally bring:
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction sector
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent commercial and contractor management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- A proactive mindset and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to improving services and delivering value for public sector clients
- Strong ICT skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- An awareness of sustainable construction practices and outcomes
REMUNERATION
