Role

As a Quantity Surveyor working in Nottinghamshire, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Work and Tender Documents for construction projects in Nottingham and surrounding areas
  • Administering contracts, under limited supervision, including reviewing payment applications and issuing interim valuation certificates under JCT, NEC and other standard forms of contract
  • Demonstrating knowledge of different procurement routes: traditional, design and build, management contracting, etc.
  • Preparing accurate financial reports and cashflow forecasts for internal and client use
  • Managing change control procedures and variations for Nottinghamshire construction projects
  • Managing tender processes and advising on procurement strategies for cost-effective building solutions

Responsibilities

The Chartered Quantity Surveyor position in Nottingham requires you to:

  • Deliver professional quantity surveying services to clients across multiple sectors
  • Provide expert cost advice throughout project lifecycles from inception to completion
  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure project delivery
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the quantity surveying team
  • Represent the company professionally at client meetings and site visits
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction cost management

Person

The ideal candidate for this Quantity Surveyor role in Nottingham will have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or commitment to achieving it within two years
  • Experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
  • Proficiency in CostX Measurement Software (preferred)
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
