The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support commercial management of multiple large-scale construction projects, working alongside Assistant and other Quantity Surveyors. This quantity surveyor position involves commercial oversight of high-value, complex construction schemes from inception to completion, ensuring cost control and contractual compliance.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

• Act as key liaison points for Regional Director/Manager and Commercial Manager, implementing strategic instructions and providing regular project updates across construction projects
• Ensure prompt submission of comprehensive data supporting monthly and quarterly contract performance reviews for major construction schemes
• Collaborate daily with Contracts Managers supporting commercial project management whilst ensuring financial targets are consistently achieved
• Prepare and thoroughly review draft sub-contracts for construction works, ensuring complete accuracy and full contractual compliance using quantity surveyor expertise
• Work alongside contract managers issuing all necessary contractual notices and submissions under various construction contract terms including NEC and JCT frameworks
• Ensure payment applications incorporate all relevant variations and claims, assisting with comprehensive final account preparation using quantity surveyor skills
• Support Contracts Managers monitoring sub-contractor performance ensuring timely, cost-effective project delivery across sites
• Manage regular submission of main contract payment applications and assist with prompt cash collection processes
• Prepare accurate sub-contractor payments aligned with agreed contractual terms and conditions for construction delivery
• Assist with dispute avoidance and resolution processes using quantity surveyor commercial expertise
• Lead commercial meetings and represent the quantity surveying team when required across Coalville, Leicester and Midlands construction projects
• Provide cost planning and contract administration support across education, healthcare, justice and defence construction schemes

To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor job in Coalville Leicester, you will need:

• Extensive experience delivering major Design & Build construction projects as a Quantity Surveyor is essential
• Proven track record working with established UK construction main contractors in commercial management roles
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management across construction projects
• Comprehensive experience across various construction sectors and large-scale projects (£10m–£50m value)
• Relevant construction industry qualification, preferably RICS membership or equivalent recognised professional institution
• Strong commercial acumen and cost planning expertise
• Ability to work effectively across Coalville, Leicester and Midlands construction sites with occasional travel
• Full UK driving licence for construction site visits across the East Midlands region
• Contract administration experience on major construction schemes
• Knowledge of construction contracts and quantity surveyor commercial processes
