Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search have an exciting Freelance Quantity Surveyor opportunity to join a fast-growing commercial team, working across high-profile retail fit-out and new build projects. With offices in the East Midlands and a brand-new location launching in the North, offering flexibility, career progression, and the chance to work on fast-paced projects for leading UK retailers. The successful candidates will split their time between office, site, and remote working.

Our client is a dynamic and growing construction contractor delivering high-quality retail fit-out schemes for major supermarkets across the UK. • Projects range from £300k to £3m, with larger projects up to £6m

Our client is looking for someone who will take ownership of their designated portfolio, with support from junior team members and close collaboration with project managers.

These roles are ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-moving environments, want autonomy in their day-to-day work, and are keen to grow within a company that values contribution at all levels.

• Pricing works and preparing valuations
• Managing and certifying subcontractor payments
• Preparing and issuing cost variations
• Occasional site remeasurement
• Collaborating with estimators, trainees, and assistants across teams

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
• Background in construction – ideally fit-out (main or sub-contractor)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, short-programme environment
• Open to hybrid working: 2–3 days office, 1–2 days home, 1 day on site
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset
