My client specialises in delivering tailored project management and cost consultancy services on large-scale logistics, industrial, commercial and mixed-use schemes, and benefit from a strong national footprint and a track record of excellence. Based in Central Manchester, this construction consultancy can offer an experienced Project Manager a diverse workload and the opportunity to become a truly integral part of their growing business.

Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering major industrial and logistics projects, providing leadership from inception through to completion. You will manage programme, cost, quality, and risk while working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful outcomes.

You will support and guide junior team members, contributing to the development of capability and maintaining the company’s reputation for technical excellence and high-quality client service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager to lead complex, high-profile developments.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager operating in their Manchester office, you will be involved in projects from inception to completion, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver industrial and logistics construction projects from feasibility through to completion, under the direction of senior project leadership.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, including programme coordination, cost control, design coordination, procurement, and site delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, supporting effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Administer projects under JCT contracts, coordinating with the supply chain and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project budgets, programmes, and risks, escalating issues as required.
  • Support and collaborate with senior project managers and directors on larger or more complex schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements across all project stages.
  • Work closely with internal cost consultancy and design teams to support integrated project delivery.
  • Prepare regular project reports on progress, cost, and risk for internal and client review.

Person

To be successful in this Project Manager job in Manchester, you will bring significant experience working within a consultancy environment and a clear passion for project management.

  • Proven experience in industrial and logistics construction projects would be ideal but would consider someone who has worked in similar sectors.
  • Relevant construction related degree.
  • Professional certifications such as MRICS, APM, or CIOB would be beneficial.
  • Delivery-focused, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ambitious, forward-thinking, and motivated to build a personal brand and network within the sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and practical, solution-oriented approach.
  • Self-starter and go-getter mindset, able to hit the ground running.
