ROLE
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple public sector construction projects across the Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, and East Midlands regions. You will manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to handover ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead project planning, programming, resource allocation, and delivery across public sector workstreams (education, healthcare, highways, urban renewal, local authority).
- Manage on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and supply chains to ensure strong coordination, performance, and collaboration.
- Act as the primary client / stakeholder interface: manage expectations, communications, and issue resolution.
- Administer contracts, manage variations, and assess risk to protect commercial interests and deliver predictable outcomes.
- Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and cost reporting.
- Drive value engineering, continuous improvement, and innovation in construction methods, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, quality assurance, regulatory requirements, and public sector obligations.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to project teams.
- Travel across the region as needed to support multiple sites and stakeholder engagements.
PERSON
The ideal candidate for this Project Manager job in, Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire & East Midlands will have proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager working within a main contracting construction environment. You'll need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels whilst demonstrating strong project leadership skills.
- Experience working for Tier 2 contractors (or equivalent) is essential, with exposure to managing schemes up to £20 million
- Strong knowledge of public procurement, frameworks, and local authority client expectations.
- Excellent commercial awareness, budgeting, forecasting, and contract management skills.
- Familiarity with NEC / JCT or similar contract forms.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to quality, safety, environmental and sustainability principles.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire & East Midlands.
RENUMERATION
