Based in Nottingham with projects spanning the East Midlands, our client is a respected framework provider working closely with public sector organisations to deliver socially responsible, sustainable projects via accredited construction and consultancy frameworks.

ROLE
As a Project Manager in the East Midlands, you will be responsible for planning, procuring and managing multiple built environment / framework construction projects from pre-contract through to final completion. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, delivery partners, consultants and supply chain organisations, ensuring that projects are delivered to agreed standards, budget, time and compliance requirements.
This Project Manager job in the East Midlands involves responsibility for monitoring and reporting on construction programmes whilst providing project leadership support to the bid process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Construction Project Manager in the East Midlands, your key responsibilities will include:
- Pre-Contract Planning: Develop procurement schedules, enabling works, design release programmes; prepare tender documentation and coordinate procurement with framework contracts.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, building regulations, planning conditions, framework standards and client / public sector guidelines.
- Cost Control: Support quantity surveyors (QS) with preparing cost estimates and procuring subcontractors/materials; monitor project expenditures, maintain budget control, track KPIs.
- Programme Delivery: Produce, maintain and adjust work programmes; lead risk assessments; manage project documentation and ensure timely handovers in line with framework obligations.
- Quality, Systems & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement; maintain quality systems and framework governance; ensure all project delivery meets the framework’s quality and reporting standards.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Prepare HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements; ensure works are executed safely and sustainably; monitor and enforce site safety, environmental and sustainability compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Stakeholder Leadership & Communication: Lead project teams; liaise with public sector clients, consultants, subcontractors; mentor junior staff; facilitate progress meetings and reporting.
PERSON
The ideal candidate for this Project Manager job in Nottingham will have proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager working within a main contracting construction environment across the East Midlands. You'll need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels whilst demonstrating strong project leadership skills.
Essential:
- Strong skills in planning, programming, cost control and procurement.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, structural principles and building regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project-planning software (e.g. MS Project/Asta Powerproject).
- Valid UK driving licence for site visits across the East Midlands region
- Appropriate construction qualification (e.g. CSCS Manager or Professionally Qualified).
Desirable
- Public sector or framework delivery experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Construction Management, Project Management, or construction-related degree (HNC/HND considered)
- Membership (or working towards) of professional bodies such as CIOB or RICS.
- Familiarity with sustainability, social value, or net-zero building practices.
- Experience managing multi-site or simultaneous project rollouts.
