Project Manager


Overview

Atkins Search are currently sourcing for a Project Manager with previous experience delivering industrial projects. This role has become available due to an increase in workload of our client and the upcoming project pipeline. The role is to support the established delivery team on some major projects across the Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Working in conjunction with the site team, ensuring accurate construction whilst maintaining quality and progress
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of mid-to-large scale building projects (commercial offices, education, mixed-use, and infrastructure sectors)
  • Manage all project phases: feasibility, pre‑construction, programmed delivery, procurement, cost control, health & safety, quality, and client engagement
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Responsible for providing sound advice, guidance, and support to the project team throughout pre-construction and construction phases
  • Produce and manage programme of works
  • Monitor all site health and safety procedures and compliance by all site personnel
  • Liaise with supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set up
  • Ensure quality of workmanship in line company expectations
  • Deliver projects to agreed program of works
  • Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions
  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Person

  • Proven track record as a project manager handling developments valued at £10M–£150M
  • Knowledge and understanding of programming and planning
  • Previous experience delivering industrial construction schemes and projects
  • Experience in delivering BREEAM-rated sustainable schemes (e.g. targeting Excellent)
  • Strong leadership of construction teams on live sites during complex phases (e.g. façade installation, off site systems)
  • Proactive decision-making, resolution of on-site challenges under pressure
  • Excellent programme and cost management skills, including forecasting and cost reporting
  • Demonstrable health & safety leadership, with familiarity of CDM regulations
  • Strong stakeholder communication (clients, local authorities, supply chain)
  • Results-driven, adaptable in dynamic project environments
  • Collaborative leadership with a focus on mentoring junior team members
  • Strong attention to quality, sustainability, and commercial outcomes
