As a MRICS Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in working across a wide variety of large, exciting construction projects across both public and private sectors. This Quantity Surveying position offers exposure to all aspects of cost management and commercial management within a supportive construction consultancy environment, with opportunities to work on prestigious construction projects throughout Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

As a MRICS Quantity Surveyor with a Sheffield-based Construction Consultancy, you will be required to deliver and demonstrate a variety of quantity surveying responsibilities across an array of Construction Projects. As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Cost planning and cost estimation for construction projects across Sheffield and Yorkshire
• Cost management and budget management throughout project lifecycles
• Value engineering assessments to optimise construction costs
• Tender management and tender evaluation for construction contracts
• Financial reporting and cost reporting for clients and stakeholders
• Budget management and cost control on active construction projects
• Employers’ agent duties and contract administration
• Valuations and interim valuations for construction work
• Commercial management of construction contracts and procurement processes
• Risk management and cost risk assessments for construction projects

Employed by an award-winning, nationally leading Construction Consultancy based in Sheffield, the ideal MRICS Quantity Surveyor must be able to portray the following:

• Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of cost management services and quantity surveying experience
• MRICS chartered or close to completing RICS chartership
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
• Experience with cost planning, tender management and value engineering
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and construction teams
• Knowledge of construction industry standards and procurement processes
• Desire and motivation to succeed in a quantity surveying career in Sheffield
• Understanding of commercial management and contract administration
