An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven M&E Manager to lead the launch and growth of a brand-new Mechanical & Electrical division within an established and expanding construction business. As part of continued growth and diversification, the business is launching a dedicated Mechanical & Electrical division, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E professional to play a key strategic role in its development and success.
Role
As M&E Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Mechanical & Electrical division, overseeing all operational, commercial, and technical activities from project inception through to completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and commercial awareness, with responsibility for managing project delivery, budgets, procurement, client relationships, and team performance, while also supporting business growth through securing additional external projects.
This position offers a genuine opportunity to establish and grow a division with significant autonomy, ownership, and long-term career progression.
Responsibilities
As an M&E Manager, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Lead all Mechanical & Electrical operations from installation through to completion.
Build, develop, and grow the new M&E division within the wider business.
Deliver projects from an existing internal pipeline of construction work.
Secure and develop additional external projects to expand division turnover and market presence.
Manage project budgets, cost control, procurement, and commercial performance.
Oversee subcontractors, site teams, suppliers, and project delivery resources.
Provide technical leadership across Mechanical & Electrical works, with a focus on electrical systems.
Review project specifications, technical requirements, and installation standards.
Manage project programmes to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional delivery and communication.
Represent the business confidently in client meetings and commercial discussions.
Support operational planning and long-term business growth strategy.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, health & safety standards, and company procedures.
Person
The successful candidate for this M&E Manager role will have:
- Strong electrical background with excellent technical knowledge.
- Good understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Previous experience managing M&E projects from installation through to completion.
- Experience leading teams, subcontractors, or operational delivery functions.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and client relationships.
- Experience working in a construction or building services environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of business performance.
Remuneration
In return for your expertise and leadership, our client offers a competitive and rewarding package including:
- Competitive salary - £80,000 - £85,000 (depending on experience)
