Role
As a Graduate Project Manager, you will support the delivery of projects across a range of sectors including Commercial Office, Industrial, Retail, Student Accommodation, and Retail from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to manage all aspects of project planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
The role requires strong communication skills, organisational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities, while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and value creation. Responsibilities
As a Graduate Project Manager based in Manchester, your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver end-to-end new build and refurbishment projects from feasibility through to completion.
- Oversee planning applications, building regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Support professional team appointments, contractor tendering, and project documentation including Project Execution Plans, meeting notes, and schedules.
- Support to coordinate design, specification, and construction activities to meet current standards and project goals.
- Work closely with and support Senior Project Managers.
- Utilise project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and provide regular status updates.
- Administer and manage JCT contracts, CDM responsibilities, and overall Health & Safety compliance.
- Oversee consultant performance to maintain statutory and safety standards across all sites.
- Support cost planning, monthly valuations, and budget forecasting.
- Contribute to tendering processes and consultant drawdown schedules to ensure financial control.
- Act as the key day-to-day contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
Person
To be successful as a Graduate Project Manager in Manchester, you will align with our requirements and bring:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in project management within real estate, construction, or a related sector.
- Relevant construction related degree.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership.
- Strong understanding of RIBA Work Stages, JCT contracts, planning procedures, environmental regulations, and building control requirements.
- Strong organisational, communication, reporting, and time management skills.
- Confident in engaging with contractors, consultants, and professional teams.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects concurrently and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
- Experienced in managing clients and stakeholders effectively under pressure.
- Health & Safety knowledge is desirable.
