Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
OVERVIEW
We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our client, a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Newark.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to begin their career within geotechnical and ground investigation engineering, working across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

ROLE
The Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will support the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical engineering projects, assisting with site investigations, data collection, testing, and technical reporting.
This role will involve both site and office-based work, giving you exposure to all stages of project delivery while working closely with senior engineers and technical specialists.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate site data is collected and recorded to support technical assessments and engineering recommendations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be expected to:
- Assist with site investigations including soil and rock logging, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Support the supervision of drilling rigs and ground investigation contractors.
- Record accurate site data and collate findings for technical reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of factual and interpretive geotechnical reports.
- Undertake laboratory scheduling and review test results.
- Attend technical, safety, and project briefings.
- Work closely with senior engineers to deliver projects to programme and budget.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures.
- Support additional engineering and project duties as required.
PERSON
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or Physical Geography.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexible approach to working on-site and travelling when required.
