Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Role

The Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the accurate collection, recording, and reporting of site data to support technical reporting and project delivery. You will work closely with senior engineers and technical managers to ensure data is gathered in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

This is a primarily site-based role, which will involve working in a range of environments, often outside normal working hours, including nights and weekends, with occasional travel and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be expected to:

Carry out physical sampling and testing of soils, rock, and other ground materials in various environments including rail, highways, and open land.

Undertake sampling of structural materials such as steel, concrete, and stone for structural investigations.

Accurately record and collate site notes for use in technical and interpretive reports.

Assist in producing factual ground and structural investigation reports.

Attend technical, safety, and project briefings.

Provide technical input to projects as required.

Undertake safety-critical duties for which you hold the relevant certification.

Comply with company safety and training requirements.

Carry out additional duties as required to support the successful delivery of projects.

Person

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc in Engineering Geology, Geology, or Physical Geography.

Full, clean UK driving licence.

Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.

Willingness to work nights, weekends, and lodge away from home when required.

Ability to pass a Personal Track Safety (PTS) medical, drugs and alcohol screening, and training.

Flexible and proactive approach to work.
