Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer in Nottingham, you'll collaborate with the Senior Management team to deliver highly efficient building services design across a variety of sectors including education, residential, bespoke housing, care homes, healthcare facilities, offices, leisure centres and industrial units throughout the East Midlands.

Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead electrical systems design and coordination, covering small power distribution, lighting schemes, fire alarm systems, data and communications infrastructure, intruder alarm systems, CCTV, access control systems and more.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary engineering teams, working closely with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, architects, main contractors and clients throughout project delivery
- Utilise advanced design software including Revit MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, dynamic thermal simulation tools, BIM Level 2 workflows and sustainability assessment methodologies such as Passivhaus and BREEAM
- Contribute to energy-efficient building services projects, delivering exceptional technical solutions from initial concept through to construction completion
- Support electrical installation coordination and site liaison across diverse sectors and locations throughout the East Midlands region
Person
To be successful in this Electrical Design Engineer position in Nottingham, you will bring proven experience in building services electrical design, ideally gained within a consultancy environment.
Essential requirements:
- Qualified (or near-qualified) Electrical Design Engineer with M&E building services experience. Candidates working towards MCIBSE chartership or already chartered are also welcomed
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within an engineering consultancy or building services design environment
- Hold 2-5 years' professional experience in electrical design engineering within the construction industry
- Skilled in electrical systems design including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, data and communications, etc.
- Proficient in BIM software (Revit) and familiar with sustainable engineering practices, low-carbon technologies and renewable energy integration
- Comfortable with project coordination, client communication, contractor liaison and engineering design software workflows
- Based in or willing to commute to the Nottingham/East Midlands area with occasional site visits across the region
