Atkins Search is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected Construction Consultancy based in Bristol.

Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate, you will play a key role in managing and delivering multiple projects while also contributing to the growth of the business through work winning and business development.

You will be responsible for leading cost management commissions, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting junior team members.

This role is best suited to an experienced, chartered quantity surveyor who enjoys a balance of technical delivery and commercial growth responsibility.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate employed by our client, your duties will include:

  • Leading the delivery of cost management services across a portfolio of projects
  • Managing all pre- and post-contract activities, including cost planning, procurement, tendering, and final accounts
  • Providing strategic cost advice to clients throughout all project stages
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Developing and managing key accounts and repeat business
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Promoting best practice and maintaining professional standards in line with RICS guidance

Person

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate will demonstrate:

  • MRICS-qualified Quantity Surveyor (or working towards with significant experience)
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ post-qualification experience in a consultancy environment
  • Proven track record delivering projects within the education, residential, and commercial sectors
  • Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration (JCT and NEC)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in work winning and business development
  • Ability to bring existing client relationships and contacts to support business growth
