This well-established quantity surveying consultancy can offer an experienced chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor a diverse workload spanning education, healthcare, commercial, residential schemes and local authority contracts.

Role
As a Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor in Cheshire, you'll be responsible for the full range of traditional quantity surveying duties working on multi-million pound construction projects with a strong focus on measurement, bills of quantities and schedules of work. This senior quantity surveyor role will suit an experienced RICS chartered professional who has proven experience working on diverse projects within the built environment.
You'll work within a close-knit cost management team delivering accurate and timely outputs while mentoring junior quantity surveyors and supporting business development activities across the North West construction market.
Responsibilities
As a Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead quantity surveying duties on construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring accurate cost management and contract administration
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, schedules of work and tender/contract documentation for major developments
- Provide comprehensive cost advice, budget reporting and contractual guidance to clients and project teams throughout project lifecycle
- Attend design team meetings and progress reviews, liaising with clients, architects, engineers, main contractors and specialist subcontractors
- Promote compliance with quality assurance systems, RICS standards and company procedures across all project deliverables
- Mentor junior quantity surveying staff and support business development activities, including client relationship management and proposal preparation
- Maintain strong client relationships across education, healthcare, commercial and residential sectors whilst identifying repeat work opportunities and referrals
Requirements
The successful Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor will be aligned with the above job description in addition to:
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or related construction discipline
- Full Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) with current professional indemnity insurance
- Minimum 2-3 years' post-chartered experience in a senior quantity surveying role working on new build construction and refurbishment projects
- Proven ability to produce accurate measured bills of quantities, cost estimates and contract documentation using industry-standard measurement principles
- Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, procurement routes, JCT contracts, NEC contracts and construction industry standards
- Proficient in digital measurement software, cost management systems and Microsoft Office applications including Excel for cost analysis
- Confident, detail-oriented and commercially focused professional with excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
- Additional desirable qualifications include experience with sustainable construction methods, BREEAM assessments, and knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety compliance in construction.
