Atkins Search is recruiting a Chartered Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected Construction Consultancy based in Cardiff.

Role
As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you will manage and deliver multiple projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards of quality, cost control, and client satisfaction.
You will be responsible for leading cost management commissions, preparing key project documentation, and providing strategic commercial advice, while also supporting business development and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities
As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor employed by our client, your duties will include:
- Leading the delivery of cost management services across a portfolio of projects
- Managing pre- and post-contract activities, including cost planning, procurement, tendering, and final accounts
- Providing detailed commercial and strategic cost advice to clients
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Supporting business development and helping to grow the consultancy’s local presence
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Promoting best practice and maintaining professional standards in line with RICS guidance
Person
The ideal Chartered Quantity Surveyor will demonstrate:
- MRICS-qualified Quantity Surveyor
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a consultancy environment
- Proven experience delivering projects within the education, residential, and commercial sectors
- Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration (JCT and NEC)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing environments
Desirable:
- Experience developing new client relationships and managing repeat business streams
- Previous mentoring or team support experience

- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
- Confident operating both independently and collaboratively
