Role

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in this Cheshire-based position, you'll handle comprehensive quantity surveying duties on multi-million pound construction projects throughout the region. This MRICS-level role focuses on accurate measurement, Bills of Quantities preparation, and schedules of work across diverse building projects in Cheshire and the North West.

This Chartered Quantity Surveyor opportunity suits an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven expertise across various built environment projects. You'll collaborate within a close-knit cost management team, delivering precise and timely outputs for clients throughout Cheshire and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead quantity surveying duties on construction projects from inception to practical completion across Cheshire
  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, schedules of work, and tender/contract documents
  • Provide expert cost advice, budget reporting, and contractual guidance to clients throughout the North West
  • Attend design coordination meetings and progress reviews; liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with RICS standards, quality assurance systems, and company procedures for all Cheshire projects
  • Mentor junior quantity surveyors and support business development activities within the consultancy
  • Maintain strong client relationships across Cheshire construction projects and identify repeat work opportunities

Person

The successful Chartered Quantity Surveyor will align with the requirements for this Cheshire-based role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction-related degree qualification
  • MRICS (Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) chartered status - essential
  • 2-3+ years post-chartered experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor working on new build and refurbishment projects
  • Proven ability to produce accurate measured Bills of Quantities and detailed cost estimates
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, procurement processes, and JCT contract administration
  • Proficiency in digital measurement tools and Microsoft Office applications
  • Confident, detail-oriented, and commercially focused with excellent communication skills for client liaison

Desirable Qualifications:

  • RICS-accredited CPD record demonstrating ongoing professional development
  • Experience with construction project management and cost planning consultancy
  • Full UK driving licence for site visits across Cheshire and the North West region
