Role
As a Chartered Associate Director Building Surveyor, you will operate alongside a cohesive team of industry leading professionals and play a key role in guiding and supporting up and coming Building Surveyors whilst working closely with the Directors and Senior Management Team to continuously grow the team and push on business development.
You will be offered a mixture of both traditional building surveying and project-based work, alongside management opportunities to truly become integral to the business.
Responsibilities
An Associate Director Building Surveyor based in Birmingham, will be responsible for:
- Directing across a range of services including planned preventative maintenance/condition surveys, contract administration, defects consultancy, dilapidations, licences for alterations, reinstatement cost assessments, schedules of condition and TDD.
- Engage and advise with key stakeholders, seeking feedback to ensure instructions are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Drive efficiency, communications, transparency of the process and exchange of information through the delivery.
- Build your own connections internally within the business and also externally to build pipeline opportunities.
- Developing case studies, marketing materials, pitch content and other promotional material and activities for the team and division.
- Contributing toward the success of the team and division through both financial and non-financial activities, promoting the team and business culture positively.
- Supporting the team in other works and delivery on an ad hoc basis where demand of workload dictates.
- Writing and delivering detailed reports.
- Supporting and developing junior members of the team.
Person
A successful Associate Director Building Surveyor for a Construction Consultancy will be aligned with the above job description in addition to:
- Degree in Building Surveying, or related to Construction (or equivalent)
- Membership in professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB)
- Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in building surveying
- Experience within project management, condition surveys, dilapidations, fire investigations, and schedules of conditions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and rapport building skills
- Excellent written skills for drafting reports, negotiating settlements and presenting evidence
- Experience with Microsoft office programmes e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- UK Drivers Licence and own vehicle
