Atkins Search is recruiting a Building Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading Construction and Property Consultancy based in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified RICS Building Surveyor looking to further their professional experience, gain exposure to a variety of projects, and work with an impressive portfolio of high-calibre clients.

The successful candidate will enjoy a diverse workload, combining bank monitoring and traditional building surveying instructions, while being supported by a highly experienced and collaborative team.

Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a mix of monitoring and building surveying services across a varied portfolio of projects.

You’ll gain excellent exposure to both professional and technical surveying work while developing your own client relationships.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone recently chartered or newly qualified who is keen to broaden their experience and take on more responsibility in a dynamic, client-facing role.

Responsibilities

As a Building Surveyor employed by our client, your duties will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of bank and fund monitoring commissions
  • Undertaking building surveys, condition reports, and defect analysis
  • Preparing specifications, tender documentation, and contract administration
  • Managing refurbishment and repair projects from inception to completion
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Assisting in developing new business opportunities and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the London office

Person

The ideal Building Surveyor will demonstrate:

  • RICS-qualified Building Surveyor (recently qualified or up to 2 years post-qualification)
  • Strong technical understanding of building pathology and construction methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client-facing and interpersonal abilities
  • Enthusiasm for both professional and project-based surveying work
  • Desire to develop experience within bank monitoring and funder-side instructions

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
  • Based in London or surrounding areas
