Atkins Search is currently recruiting for a remote working Building Surveyor to join a highly reputable consultancy based in the East Midlands. You will predominately work from home with occasional visits to the office in Birmingham or Nottingham and attending site visits across the Midlands.

You’ll be joining a team of expert professionals, working across diverse project management and professional consultancy services such as insurance, major loss, education, healthcare, residential and commercial industries.

Role

As Building Surveyor based remotely in the East Midlands, you will operate alongside a fantastic team of industry leading professionals and play a key role in delivering a mixture of traditional building surveying, insurance surveying and project-based work.

Responsibilities

As Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Manage projects, with support of Manager and/or Director, with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy Building Surveying services.
  • Deliver a range of surveys including acquisition surveys and measured surveys, condition reports, defect investigations, dilapidation advice and party wall advice.
  • Oversee construction projects from inception to completion to include design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
  • Prepare detailed reports, schedule of works and technical specifications.
  • Build strong connections both internally and externally by positively engaging with customers to maintain and develop relationships and create future opportunities.
  • Contributing toward the success of the team and business through both financial and non-financial activities, promoting the team and business culture positively.
  • upporting the team with additional delivery as required, flexing to meet project demands.

Person

To be a successful Building Surveyor, you will be aligned with the above job description in addition to –

  • Degree in Building Surveying, or related to Construction (or equivalent)
  • Membership in professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards
  • Based within the East Midlands (or easily commutable)
  • Hold a UK Driving license and access to your own vehicle
