Atkins Search is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Bid Writer to join the collaborative Preconstruction team of a highly respected, family-owned main contractor based in Manchester.

This role is also open to skilled Bid Writers from outside the construction industry who are eager to bring their expertise into a new sector and add fresh perspective to a high-performing team.

ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented Bid Writer to join an award-winning Preconstruction team. You’ll work alongside an experienced Bid Specialist and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compelling, high-quality bids, tenders and proposal documents.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about written work and communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Selection Questionnaires (SQs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
  • Produce high-quality, client-focused bid and tender documentation
  • Format, design and compile engaging proposal documents with both written and visual content
  • Manage bid documentation to meet tight deadlines
  • Assist with bid/no-bid decisions and contribute to bid strategy
  • Create supporting content such as large-format visuals or models
  • Collaborate on storyboarding and ensure brand and tone consistency
  • Analyse feedback from unsuccessful bids to support continuous improvement

PERSON

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Bid Writing role
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with bid processes and document management
  • Competent in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with a desire to develop and progress within the role
