Role

This Associate Director Project Manager role in Birmingham offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of large-scale healthcare projects and programmes across the Midlands, while playing a key role in driving business growth. The position combines project leadership with strategic responsibilities, including developing client relationships, supporting business development, and contributing to regional performance targets.

You will oversee project teams, ensure successful delivery across all stages, and work closely with senior leadership to strengthen the project pipeline and enhance service offerings.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Director Project Manager based in Birmingham, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the successful delivery of large-scale healthcare projects and programmes
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth
  • Supporting regional business plans and contributing to pipeline development
  • Leading or supporting bids, tenders, and new business opportunities
  • Managing project teams to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to a high standard
  • Overseeing commercial, contract, risk, and programme management activities
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement regulations and frameworks
  • Driving quality assurance across projects and teams
  • Line management and development of team members
  • Supporting professional development and upskilling across the team
  • Monitoring financial performance and achieving revenue targets
  • Promoting a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture

Person

To be successful as an Associate Director Project Manager in Birmingham, you will align with our requirements and bring:

  • Chartered status (MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Healthcare or public sector environment experience is essential.
  • NEC Accreditation would be beneficial.
  • Extensive experience in project management within a consultancy or client-side environment, with a proven track record of leading major projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in business development and client management across the West Midlands market.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and construction procurement processes.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of a full project life cycle with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence for site visits across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
