ROLE
As an Associate Director Project Manager, you'll lead business development activities, grow your own client portfolio and contribute to strategic decisions across the consultancy. - Lead business development and client relationship management activities, growing your own client base across Cambridgeshire and the East of England
- Win fee-earning work through networking, bid support and strategic client engagement
- Manage and mentor Project Managers and junior team members, supporting their professional development
- Oversee delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects from inception through to completion
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business
- Lead and chair project meetings, design team coordination sessions and issue meeting minutes
- Manage project programmes, budgets and risk registers to ensure successful delivery outcomes
- Ensure construction projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
- Support directors in strategic planning, business growth initiatives and consultancy expansion
- Drive a professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach across all project activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and service delivery
PERSON
To be successful in this Construction Project Manager Cambridge role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive consultancy and/or client-side experience within the built environment and construction sector
- Proven track record of fee-earning and work-winning, with demonstrable client development skills
- Experience building and managing your own client base through effective networking and relationship management
- Previous leadership and team management experience, including mentoring junior construction professionals
- Ability to balance business development activities with hands-on project delivery and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills for client engagement and team leadership
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project risk, financial performance and contract administration
- Experience across multi-disciplinary service offerings and multiple construction sectors
- Strategic thinking with a proactive, forward-looking approach to consultancy growth
- Professional membership such as MRICS, MAPM, APM or equivalent industry recognition is highly desirable
- Full UK driving licence for site visits across the Cambridge and South Midlands region
