Role
As an Associate Director – Project Manager based in Manchester, you will lead the delivery of major projects from inception through to completion, taking ownership of all aspects of project leadership. You will play a key role in business development, contributing to work-winning initiatives and nurturing client relationships, while overseeing project delivery across multiple schemes.
In this senior project management role, you will provide mentorship and guidance to the team, supporting capability development and helping maintain the business’s reputation for technical excellence and outstanding client service.

Responsibilities
As an Associate Director Project Manager operating in their Manchester office, you will be involved in projects from inception to completion, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the delivery of projects from feasibility through to completion across a range of sectors.
- Manage project teams and oversee all aspects of project planning, cost planning, design, procurement, and delivery.
- Act as the primary client interface, ensuring strong communication and long-term relationship management.
- Manage JCT contract delivery, coordinate with supply chain and subcontractor teams.
- Oversee project budgets, programmes, and risk management to ensure successful outcomes.
- Support work winning activities, including bid preparation, proposals, and client presentations.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for junior and mid-level project managers.
- Ensure projects meet compliance with CDM 2015 and H&S regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide integrated project solutions.
- Report on project progress, commercial performance, and client satisfaction to senior leadership.
- Contribute to business strategy, resource planning, and operational improvements within the project management division.
Person
To be successful in this Associate Director Project Manager job in Manchester, you will bring significant experience working within a consultancy environment and a clear passion for project management.
- Proven experience in an Associate level Project Management role working across similar sectors.
- Relevant construction related degree.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, APM, or CIOB would be beneficial.
- Be confident delivering complex projects across multiple sectors, including both public and private work.
- Possess strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring and guiding teams.
- Be commercially aware and capable of contributing to business development initiatives.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Have ambition to grow into senior leadership roles and influence the strategic direction of the business.
