OVERVIEW

Are you an experienced Assistant Site Manager looking for your next contract in South East London?

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to join a unique new build project with a minimum 6-month programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a prestigious and innovative development offering a very different delivery experience compared to traditional commercial or residential schemes.

This “live experience” project will create a final product designed for end-user interaction, providing a dynamic and fast-paced working environment. Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates.

Our client is a reputable construction contractor delivering high-quality, complex new build developments across London and the South East.

They are known for delivering innovative and engaging projects, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and programme delivery. Their experienced leadership team fosters a collaborative environment on-site, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.

ROLE

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager and wider leadership team in the day-to-day running of the project. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

You will be heavily involved in site coordination, subcontractor management, and ensuring quality and compliance across all stages of the build.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Assistant Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of all site activities across internal and external packages
  • Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and direct labour
  • Monitoring progress across M&E, groundworks, carpentry, drylining, and finishing trades
  • Carrying out site inspections and ensuring health & safety standards are maintained
  • Overseeing quality control and ensuring works are completed to specification
  • Supporting programme management and reporting progress to senior management
  • Coordinating site logistics, deliveries, and access arrangements
  • Assisting with site documentation, inductions, and delivering toolbox talks

PERSON

To be successful in this Assistant Site Manager role, you should have:

  • SSSTS certification (essential)
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on new build projects
  • Understanding of temporary structures and scaffolding (advantageous)
  • Trade background (e.g. Carpentry, Drylining, Groundworks or similar) preferred
  • Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills
  • Good knowledge of health & safety regulations and site procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required

REMUNERATION

This is an excellent long-term contract opportunity on a high-profile project.
