Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Cambridge, you'll support the commercial management of projects from inception through to completion. Working closely with senior surveyors and project teams, you'll assist in managing costs, procurement, and contract administration to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Support cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting across projects
- Assist in procurement processes, including tendering and contract administration
- Prepare and review valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and support cost control measures
- Work closely with contractors and consultants to ensure commercial compliance
- Assist in risk management and value engineering processes
- Attend project meetings and contribute to commercial discussions
- Support senior quantity surveyors in delivering client objectives
Person
To be successful in this Assistant Quantity Surveyor job in Cambridge, you will bring a strong interest in construction and commercial management, with some relevant experience or education.
- Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, or similar role
- Background in consultancy or main contracting environments preferred
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good organisational and communication abilities
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline desirable
- Working towards or interest in RICS accreditation advantageous
