Atkins Search is recruiting an Assistant Cost Consultant on behalf of our client, a respected and established Construction Consultancy based in Hove (Brighton area).
This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Cost Consultant or Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some post-degree experience who is eager to take the next step in their career and develop within a small but dynamic team of surveyors.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of projects across the Southeast of England, working on both fund monitoring and traditional quantity surveying commissions.

Role
As an Assistant Cost Consultant, you will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of both cost management and fund monitoring services.
You’ll be responsible for assisting in the preparation of cost plans, reports, valuations, and financial appraisals, as well as undertaking site visits across the Southeast region.
This position offers hands-on experience and progression opportunities for a motivated individual keen to build a long-term career within the construction consultancy sector.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Cost Consultant employed by our client, your duties will include:
- Assisting with cost planning, estimating, and tender analysis
- Supporting the delivery of fund monitoring and due diligence services
- Preparing reports, valuations, and cost advice for clients
- Attending site visits across the Southeast region
- Assisting with contract administration and project documentation
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and design teams
- Supporting senior cost consultants and project managers
- Working towards MRICS accreditation with professional guidance and support
Person
The ideal Assistant Cost Consultant will demonstrate:
- RICS-recognised degree in Quantity Surveying
- Some post-degree experience within cost consultancy or quantity surveying
- Strong understanding of construction cost and project management principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Based in the Southeast
- Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own car
Desirable:
- Working towards MRICS qualification
- Experience in fund monitoring or monitoring surveyor roles

Location
