My client specialises in providing tailored project management and cost consultancy services on large-scale logistics, industrial, commercial, and mixed-use schemes. Based in Central Manchester, this growing construction consultancy offers a diverse workload and the chance to become a key part of their expanding team.

Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the delivery of industrial and logistics projects under the guidance of senior project managers. You will assist with day-to-day project tasks, gaining experience in programme coordination, cost management, design, and site delivery. This role is ideal for someone looking to continue to grow their project management skills and build a career in construction consultancy.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Project Manager operating in their Manchester office, you will be involved in projects from inception to completion, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the coordination of project activities, including programme management, design, procurement, and site operations.
- Supporting senior project managers in managing project budgets, timelines, and risks.
- Acting as a point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, helping to maintain effective communication.
- Preparing project documentation, reports, and updates for internal teams and clients.
- Assisting with contract administration, including supporting JCT contract processes.
- Supporting compliance with CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements on site.
- Collaborating with internal cost consultancy and design teams to help deliver integrated project solutions.
- Learning from senior project managers and contributing to the development of project delivery skills.
Person
To be successful in this Assistant Project Manager job in Manchester, you will bring significant experience working within a consultancy environment and a clear passion for project management.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a project management role within a consultancy environment.
- Relevant construction related degree.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, APM, or CIOB or working towards.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to learn from experienced project managers.
- Commercially aware and practical, with a solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project teams effectively.
