Assistant Project Manager


OVERVIEW

A new opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join a well-established construction consultancy based in Bristol.

This role offers the chance to support and deliver a variety of local and regional projects across different sectors, working closely with senior colleagues, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery. CLIENT

Our client is a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering project management and cost consultancy services. Working across commercial, residential, public sector, and mixed-use developments, they pride themselves on providing practical solutions and building long-standing relationships with their clients.

With an expanding workload, they are now looking to strengthen their Bristol team with the addition of an Assistant Project Manager.

ROLE

As Assistant Project Manager, you will support the delivery of construction projects from inception to completion. Working under the guidance of senior project managers, you will assist in client communications, project planning, and coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

This role would suit someone with consultancy experience, looking to build their career and gain further exposure to a range of projects and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager role include:
  • Assisting in managing projects throughout all stages of the lifecycle
  • Supporting senior colleagues in client communications and reporting
  • Helping prepare and monitor programmes, budgets, and documentation
  • Attending meetings and contributing to project coordination
  • Assisting with risk management and compliance requirements
  • Supporting the delivery of a high level of client service and communication

PERSON

  • To be successful in this role, candidates should ideally have:
  • Some experience within a construction consultancy environment
  • Relevant degree-level qualification (or equivalent)
  • Desire to work towards professional chartership (APM, RICS or similar)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute proactively
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
