Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, they are now seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to strengthen their Nottingham office and support the continued success of their Building Surveying team.

ROLE

As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the Building Surveying team in providing professional advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of a wide range of building types.

You will gain exposure to both professional and project work, assisting with surveys, inspections, reports, specifications, and project delivery while developing your technical knowledge and working towards professional career progression.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Assistant Building Surveyor in Nottingham, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with building inspections and provide surveying advice on a range of building types and projects
  • Undertake acquisition surveys, condition surveys, measured surveys, and defect investigations
  • Prepare reports, schedules of work, and technical specifications
  • Support the design, procurement, and delivery of construction and refurbishment projects
  • Assist in administering building contracts and overseeing works on site
  • Develop an understanding of Building Regulations, Planning legislation, Party Wall matters, and Health & Safety requirements
  • Monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered to current technical standards
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and industry best practices
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple disciplines
  • Support senior surveyors in delivering projects efficiently and effectively
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and client service
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times

PERSON

To be successful in this Assistant Building Surveyor role in Nottingham, candidates should ideally have:

  • BSc or MSc in Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • Experience or placement exposure within a Building Surveying, consultancy, architectural, or construction environment
  • Knowledge of surveying practices, building construction, and project delivery processes
  • Understanding of relevant legislation including CDM Regulations 2015, Building Regulations, and Party Wall matters
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn from experienced professionals
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Ambition to develop professionally and progress within the Building Surveying profession

REMUNERATION
