ROLE
As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you’ll support senior colleagues in delivering a wide range of surveying and project management services. You’ll gain exposure to all stages of projects, from surveys and reporting through to contract administration and client liaison.
This role offers excellent training and mentoring, providing you with the foundation you need to develop towards chartership with RICS and build a successful career in Building Surveying.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Assistant Building Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with condition surveys, dilapidation reports, schedules of work, and technical documentation
- Supporting senior surveyors with project management and contract administration duties
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and design team meetings
- Building knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and industry standards
- Contributing to feasibility studies, defect analysis, and technical advice
- Supporting the delivery of projects from inception to completion
- Developing strong client relationships under the guidance of senior staff
- Actively working towards APC and RICS chartership with structured support
PERSON
To be successful in this Assistant Building Surveying job in Nottingham, the desirable person should demonstrate:
- A degree in Building Surveying (BSc or MSc)
- Keen interest in progressing towards APC and RICS chartership
- Previous work experience in a consultancy or relevant placement (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage your time effectively and contribute to multiple projects
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
REMUNERATION
