We are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor at their regional, Cambridge office. .

The Role

The function of the Quantity Surveying role will be to provide commercial support from pre-construction to completion. You will be responsible for re-measuring works, take offs and producing bills of quantities when required. Also, preparing accurate monthly cashflow projections, financial reports and financial forecasts. In addition you will procure a wide range of sub-contract packages and materials ensuring best value. You will be involved In diverse project types including commercial, industrial, education, residential and PRS ranging in value from circa £5m to £30m.

Requirements

Experience of various forms of construction technology Understanding of Microsoft Office and MS Excel Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor Experience of multiple or large-scale project delivery Solid understanding of main contract and sub-contract conditions and documents. An Ability to confidently comment on contract conditions, produce complete sub-contract documents etc. Construction related degree Experience of JCT form of contract

Assist the project teams by communicating the finances and budget against project progress Strong understanding and experience across various sectors Present yourself clearly, concisely and accurately in subcontractors, clients, health & safety and environmental meetings to provide financial and budget information Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chains and team members Assist the project team in production of and meeting or exceeding project targets Make and implement difficult and/or unpopular decisions.
