We are currently working with a family owned house-builder based in Nottingham, and are actively recruiting for a Planning Manager to come and join their business

Who you’ll be working for as a Planning Manager:

Our client is a well-established house builder that has been building quality homes for around 60 years and operate a regional basis. Our client is well known for their classic and innovative designs, and pride themselves on their high levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing as a Planning Manager:

This will be an exciting opportunity to make the job your own, grow a team, and to work closely with the Directors.

• You will lead a new and ambitious service for the business

• Drive investment in brownfield and other strategic development sites (mostly privately-owned)

• You will commission assessments and masterplans

• Undertake land assembly

• Promote land through different borough councils

• Generate and manage the process of planning applications

• Negotiate with stakeholders

• Liaise with local authorities

• Reviewing the Local Plan

• Keep tabs on S106 obligations

• Negotiate S106s

• Liaison with consultants to gain the relevant reports for planning application

• Keep abreast of any changes to planning regulations / law as it relates to us

To succeed in the job of Planning Manager, you must be:

• Commercially and technically aware

• An accomplished all-rounder

• Able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully delivering completed development

• To have extensive senior experience of building public private partnerships and successfully negotiating with landowners and developers to bring about quality developments

• As well as your commercial and technical experience, your people skills will be crucial

• You will have experience in assembling and managing multi-disciplinary teams including external development consultants and the public sector

• Your knowledge of the statutory planning system will be vital too

What you’ll receive as a Planning Manager:

• 32.5 hours a week (short working week)
