We are currently working with a well-established, local construction company that have an opportunity for an experienced, reliable and self-motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team and to develop the H&S culture within the business.
Interpret project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations through both the pre-construction and construction phases of projects
Responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety on site in accordance with Company policy, ISO standards and relevant statutory provisions.
Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development, training and mentoring of others as well as delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site; as well as refresher training and advising the management team in respect to H&S.
Updating and improving company Health and Safety policies and documentation, Producing Construction Health and Safety Plans and associated supporting documentation, maintain records, registers and data as required.
Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events to identify and share lessons learned.
Chair safety meetings, both with the workforce and supply chain.
Key Skills and Requirements
You will be a seasoned, highly experienced and qualified Health & Safety professional with extensive knowledge of managing health and safety within the construction industry with a proven record of achieving key results.
As a Health and Safety Manager you will have deep technical knowledge of health and safety legislation and keep up to date with legislative changes, be NEBOSH certified, a Member of IOSH and hold a Relevant CSCS Card.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal to deliver key safety messages, have good problem-solving skills and strong Microsoft office skills.
You will be self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure accurately on an independent basis always giving attention to detail.
The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships.
