Ant and Laura looking at each other

July at Atkins Search

July has been an incredible month for construction recruitment at Atkins Search. From celebrating team achievements to expanding our capabilities in construction jobs, here’s what’s been happening behind the scenes at one of the East Midlands’ leading construction recruitment agencies.

Celebrating Success and Team Growth

At the start of the month, we gathered to reflect on our Q1 performance, and were thrilled to announce Nicole Broughton’s promotion to Managing Consultant and recognise her as our Employee of Quarter 1. Her expertise in the construction industry and building construction jobs has been instrumental in our success placing construction professionals across the East Midlands.

Nicole is a brilliant example of how we operate at Atkins Search, we recognise talent both externally and internally to help opportunists within the team and help construction professionals find their perfect construction opportunities.

Welcoming New Talent

We’ve expanded our construction team with Alex Edwards joining as Senior Recruitment Consultant, working alongside Ashleigh Curwood, Dan Priestley and Antony Rowe. The addition of Alex strengthens our ability to place top-tier talent in building jobs and civil engineering positions across the East Midlands region.

With more hands-on deck, we can provide even better service to both job seekers looking for construction work and employers seeking skilled construction professionals.

Nottingham Hot Property

Laura Belcher, Olivia Hartley, and Nicole Broughton attended Nottingham Hot Property this month, a fantastic local event that brings together professionals from across the construction and property industries. The team had a fun evening building relationships and catching up with familiar faces, whilst also expanding our network and connect with people working across the built environment, from consultancy firms to on-site professionals.

Innovation in Construction Recruitment

Our partnership discussions with Cartwright have focused heavily on AI integration. Laura Belcher and Jessica Jones attended their annual review, while Maria Potter, Alex Allsopp and Alex Jones joined collaborative sessions exploring how technology can enhance our construction recruitment process.

Our aim is to continue matching construction professionals with the right construction industry jobs, and by embracing AI we believe we’ll be able to achieve this faster than ever.

Atkins Search Dream: American Themed Fuddle

On Friday 4th July, we tied in our annual incentive theme with a fun celebration for Independence Day. Our theme for this year is the “Atkins Search Dream”, derived from The American Dream, hence we channelled some American spirit by dressing in red, white and blue and had an all-American themed lunch.

A strong internal culture helps us maintain our commitment to excellence, so our clients and candidates benefit from our thriving recruitment consultants.

Celebrating 4 Years of Olivia Hartley at Atkins Search

This month, we’re proud to celebrate Olivia’s 4-year anniversary at Atkins Search, marking a key milestone in her recruitment career. Since joining our recruitment agency, Olivia has played a vital role in delivering high-quality, values-led recruitment services within the construction and built environment sectors across North Yorkshire and the North West.

Her dedication to building long-term partnerships, along with her people-first approach, has made a lasting impact on both our clients and candidates. We’re excited to continue this journey with you and see what the future holds!

ProCon Nottinghamshire Ltd Nottingham Partners East Midlands Combined County Authority Summer Engagement Event

Our Operations Director, Laura, attended the ProCon Nottinghamshire Ltd Nottingham Partners Summer Engagement event with the East Midlands Combined County Authority. This was a great opportunity for Atkins Search to hear from the Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, and recognise her drive to deliver more jobs and better skills, build the homes we need, get a grip of our transport systems, back our high streets, work for a greener East Midlands and championing our visitor economy to put our region on the map. This event will bring people together from across Nottingham to inspire, inform and involve to build momentum around a shared vision to make the East Midlands best place to live, to work and to learn.

Tough to Talk Fundraising

Planning is underway for our August charity fundraising campaign. As a construction recruitment agency, we feel very passionate about Tough To Talk who aim to break the silence around men’s mental health. The construction industry loses 4 men a day to suicide in England alone, which is a statistic we cannot ignore.

The Atkins Search charity committee have been busy planning a challenge for the team in August to raise awareness and vital funds in hope to break the silence around male suicide. More details to follow soon!
